Tianjin Medical University
Tianjin Medical College, the predecessor of Tianjin Medical University, was founded in 1951. It is a medical college approved by the former State Administration College after the founding of new China. Professor Zhu Xianyi, a famous endocrinologist and medical educator, was the first president. In June 1994, Tianjin Medical College and Tianjin Second Medical College formally established Tianjin Medical University. In December 1996, it became the only National “211 Project” Key Construction Municipal University in Tianjin. In October 2015, it became a university jointly built by Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, National Health and Family Planning Commission and Ministry of Education. In September 2017, it was selected as the National “World-class Discipline Construction University”.
Tianjin Medical University is actively engaged in the medical higher education in China. It is one of the first two medical colleges approved by the state to pilot the eight-year system, and also one of the first 15 colleges to pilot the seven-year system. At present, the university has two campuses (i.e. Qi Xiangtai Road Campus and Guangdong Road Campus) and seven university hospitals. There are 22 undergraduate majors, 19 colleges (departments) and 1 teaching department. There are 10291 full-time undergraduate students, including 5327 undergraduate students, 3292 master students, 655 doctoral students and 1017 overseas students.
At present, there are 8519 professional and technical personnel including university hospitals, including 663 senior and 1247 deputy senior. There are 2 academicians of the Academy of Engineering, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 foreign academician, 12 winners of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars and 6 winners of the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, 4 chief scientists of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China “973”, 13 candidates for the National Million Talents Project, 6 leaders of the National “Ten Thousand Talents Plan” and 2 young top talents, 13 experts with outstanding contributions from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China. The National Health and Family Planning Commission has 12 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions.

Applicants are welcome to apply for the degree study and the refresher course study and contact our Admission Office.
Application Deadline: July 30 of each year. Recruiting is all year round in our school. The new semester begins in September.
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals.
2. Applicants who have immigrated to other countries from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan should meet the following conditions: renouncement of Chinese citizenship, with foreign nationality and latest foreign education respectively for 5 years at least.
3. Applicants should have good conduct, good physical and mental health, and be willing to abide by the laws and regulations of China and Tianjin Medical University.
4. Applicants must provide senior high school graduation certificates or highest graduation certificates, excellent academic performance, under the age of 25.
5. Applicants must meet the language proficiency requirements: HSK 5 or above for Chinese-taught programs; TOFEL: no less than 80, IELTS: no less than 6.0 for English-taught programs (native English speakers are exempted).

8) Language certificates: HSK Certificates for applicants of Chinese-taught programs; Certificates of TOFEL or IELTS for applicants of English-taught programs (native English speakers are exempted).
9) University letters: Applicants studying in China need to submit the leaving permission letter and non -discipline violation letter of the university.
10) Supporting documents of immigration: Overseas Chinese applicants should submit the documents of immigration, renouncement of Chinese citizenship, and latest 5-year visa and foreign education records.

Upon verification, Tianjin Medical University will send out Visa Application Form for Study in China (Form JW202), Tianjin Medical University Admission Notice as well as the list of total expenses to the accepted students. Holders of the above-mentioned two documents and Health Examination Certificate are supposed to apply for the Student Visa at the Chinese embassy or Chinese consulate in their countries. Applicants are expected to come to International Medical School of Tianjin Medical University for registration on the prescribed date. Applicants who fail to come within the fixed time will be disqualified the status.
