Bashkir State Medical University

Bashkir State Medical University is the institution that combines the best educational technologies, highly qualified teachers, and a creativity-inspiring atmosphere. That enables the University to provide the most comfortable conditions for Russian and international students’ education, to establish a unique environment for developing Medicine and training world-class professionals.

8000 students study in the Bashkir State Medical University, including foreign citizens, 1000 residents and 250 graduate students. Every year 7 thousand people are trained by the additional professional education programs. The University includes five faculties, the Medical College, the multi-disciplinary Clinic and the Dental Clinic. More than 1500 international students from 48 countries study in BSMU. They are trained by the program of higher education. About 150 students are trained by postgraduate education. Bashkir State Medical University is actively engaged in international activities in the following areas: academic exchange, joint research, and the Ph.D. program training. BSMU signed 4 contracts with German universities, 2 contracts with medical institutions of Austria, 9 contracts with Chinese universities and medical institutions, 8 contracts with universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2 contracts with universities of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan

Bashkir State Medical University is an excellent platform for developing leadership skills, creativity, and sports character. BSMU Volunteer Center helps first-year students to adapt and involves them in the social life of the University. The University supports socially significant initiatives of students.

For more than 85 years our institution has been successfully training specialists for health care, scientific and pedagogical work in the sphere of professional medical and pharmaceutical education of the Russian Federation. Scientists of Bashkir State Medical University successfully represent our Republic and Russia at international events in different fields of natural sciences.

University faculty consists of famous scholars and medical practitioners who are involved in teaching, medical and scientific activities. BSMU possesses material and technical resources, training facilities, and large library stock. BSMU is famous for its schools of surgeons, oncologists, cardiologists, morphologists all around Russian and world medical institutions.

Thanks to the international summits of SCO and BRICS, which were held in the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2015, Ufa became a new congress center of Russia. Today we are at the center of Russian and international medical events. Summits gave impetus to the development of cooperation with China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and strengthening cooperation with leading universities of Germany. Nowadays our students, physicians, and professors are being integrated in international practice, our scientists are conducting joint research on topical problems of medicine.
